My neighbor died last Tuesday. Most of us went to his funeral Monday. He was a great guy that we all respected. He sat in the cube next to me for almost five years. I'll miss him a lot. When I scraped the bottom of my yogurt container this morning at work, it reminded me of how I heard that from his cube every morning he was there. I got all teary-eyed. When I cranked up my speakers after I thought everyone was gone for the day, I paused for a second because I hadn't heard him leave and if he was still there I didn't want to disturb him. Then I realized I would never have to worry about disturbing him again. And the silence was deafening.
